Jim Richards

James Richards' musical beginnings were piano at age 6, violin for a year in 4 th grade, and drums from high school to present. With a semi-classical background, Jim started playing in SF local bands by age 17. A Cancer (on the cusp), Jim's most notorious band alliances include funk rockers !Tang, hip hop misfits The Marginal Prophets, local rockers The Virgins, Thursday night jam sessions with Bizar Bazaar, and brief stints with the likes of O-Maya, Otis Goodnight, and many others. An avid Oakland A's fan and East Bay native, Jim currently beats off as “P.J. Latrell” with The Latrells and continues his decade-and-a-half association with guitar sensation Dermot Erwin and the rock-solid low-frequency rumbler Adrian Maestas, to create YEAHMAN, a power trio representing years of our cumulative gig hours on the SF music scene, and being pretty fed up with all that noise.
